Protein test may ease diagnosis of monogenic diabetes

Data on 1,500 patients found that those with monogenic diabetes had lower levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive proteins than those with type 2 diabetes and other subtypes. The findings in Diabetologia suggest that using hsCRP testing may help simplify the diagnosis of monogenic diabetes in patients, experts said.
