U.S. scrutinizes domestic arms of Europe's major banks

Regulators in the U.S. are increasing scrutiny of American divisions of Europe's largest banks, as concerns mount that the region's sovereign-debt crisis will spread to the U.S., sources said. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has been meeting with bank executives and demanding more information to determine their exposure to the debt woes.
