Brazil enacts new law against corporate bribery and corruption

The Brazil Clean Companies Act, which prohibits bribery and other forms of corruption, was signed into law this month and will take effect Jan. 29. Pharmaceutical, medtech and other companies that break the law could be dissolved or suspended and would face steep civil fines. Brazilian companies that self-report infractions and cooperate with officials can receive leniency.
