Candy promotion budgets expected to jump

With consumer purchasing still in a slump, food manufacturers, including confectioners, are expected to increase their budgets for promotions by approximately 5-10% for the coming holiday season. Analysts predict that chocolate, for example, from companies such as Cadbury, Nestle, Ferrero Rocher and Mars, may be promoted at special discounts or as part of two-for-one deals on special gift packs.
