Auto production boosts U.S. factory output

Auto assembly plants increased output by more than 10% in July, according to the Federal Reserve, boosting overall U.S. factory output for the month. It was a striking pace with widespread ramifications, according to Daniel J. Meckstroth, MAPI chief economist. "The impact of the motor vehicle production rippled through the supply chain for glass, metals, textiles, leather, etc," he said.
