Job market rewards skills over theory, study finds

College degrees focusing on skills, rather than theory, produced the best employment outcomes, according to the authors of a recent study. Majors with the lowest unemployment rates included computer science, elementary education, finance and hospitality management. History, anthropology, archaeology, fine arts, economics and information systems majors had higher jobless rates.
