Ranbaxy develops cheaper malaria drug

India's Ranbaxy Laboratories said its new anti-malarial drug costs less but works as well as the current drug being used, artemisinin. The chief executive of Medicines for Malaria Venture said the new medicine "could be the biggest breakthrough in malaria treatment of our generation."
