A Teach for America teacher sheds a painful past

Ali Batmanghelidj, whose grandfather was murdered during the Iranian revolution, will shortly begin a two-year stint teaching history in a Baltimore high school. On his first day in the classroom, the 24-year-old Iranian immigrant says he'll tell his students that education can help them overcome any obstacle.
