Canada reviews safety of printer ink, cosmetics chemicals

In the wake of Canada's ban on the import and sale of polycarbonate baby bottles containing bisphenol A, that government is scheduled to release a draft assessment on Saturday of chemicals including Pigment Red 3, used in printing ink and cartridges, coloring agents used in cosmetics and a dye used in detergents and cleaners. The assessment is part of Canada's Chemical Management Plan, which is assessing 200 chemicals in batches.
