India investigates infant deaths from drug trials

Indian Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss ordered an investigation into two government-backed clinical trials at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi after 49 infants died in drug tests. The babies were among 4,142 patients participating in studies at the medical college since January 2006. AIIMS denied any lapse in standards.
