L.A. school attempts to lower "horrendous" 58% dropout rate

More than 90% of students at L.A.'s Jefferson Senior High School are poor, nearly half aren't native English speakers, and some 58% drop out. School administrators are marketing the long-range financial benefits of earning a high school diploma, via such forums as area hip-hop stations, text messages, MySpace and YouTube.
