Los Angeles River may get protection from EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency is pushing for the Los Angeles River to be covered by the Clean Water Act. In order for a river to be covered under the act, it has to be classified as "traditional navigable waters." The EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are debating whether the river should be considered navigable or not.
