PHRs have no overarching privacy policy

HIPAA does not apply to companies like Google and Microsoft that allow you to store personal health records. Each vendor that works with them sets their own privacy policy and the director of the Health Privacy Project is concerned because "there isn't anyone to regulate the security and privacy of the personal health information records."
