Teen follows own path in battle to overcome challenges

Floyd Allen, 19, who has a learning disability, is determined to graduate with a high-school diploma and not the "certificate of achievement" offered to students in special education. "There's a resiliency to Floyd," said Mary Laurie, principal of the school Allen will attend again in the fall -- the seventh school of his high-school career. "He keeps coming back. He keeps coming back. He keeps coming back."
