Architecture index rebounds in July

The July Architecture Billings Index increased more than 5 points to a reading of 43.1, suggesting that construction spending rebounded. However, the index has remained below 50, which indicates continuing low demand, since January 2008. Observers say the results indicate that the stimulus program is not significantly boosting project activity.
