Faster alternative certification should be allowed for Michigan teachers

Michigan's Board of Education is considering a faster path for professionals interested in becoming teachers that would allow those with a bachelor's degree to take 15 credits and then begin teaching while they earn certification. This would allow laid-off workers and others with expertise in science and math to become classroom teachers more quickly, according to an editorial in The Lansing State Journal.
