Labor Department adds investigators to boost enforcement

The Labor Department will hire 670 investigators as part of an effort to increase enforcement of labor regulations. About 100 of those will focus on contractors working on stimulus-funded projects. "Employers, especially smaller ones, are really looking for help in terms of understanding the requirements and making sure they're doing things right," said Marc Freedman, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's executive director of labor-law policy.
