DHS subway test could lead to better chemical, biological detection

The Department of Homeland Security hopes a test week in Boston will aid in the development of chemical and biological detection systems for public transportation. In the test, scheduled for Aug. 20 to 27, DHS will release a non-toxic, odorless gas in the Boston subway system, then sample the air in 20 stations to determine how airborne contaminants spread through the system.
