Garden State Ethanol to demonstrate algae-to-ethanol process

Garden State Ethanol will demonstrate its method of producing ethanol from algae on Thursday at a prototype facility in Woodbine, N.J. The company plans to use this technology in a proposed biorefinery, which would have the capacity to produce up to 25 million gallons of ethanol and 10 million gallons of biodiesel annually when it becomes operational. On hand at the demonstration will be officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, who will give the company a check worth $98,000 to help fund the construction of the plant.
