Construction of the Hoover Dam bypass bridge is nearing completion, and pedestrians will get a special one-day opportunity to traverse the bridge before it opens for traffic. On Oct. 16, the bridge will be open for foot traffic. People can "get a chance to explore it and enjoy it before it's ready to do its purpose," said Dave Zanetell, bridge project manager for the Federal Highway Administration. Crews are finishing up paving the bridge, which is scheduled to open to cars and trucks in November.
