Mass. hospital uses text hotline for ED wait times

MetroWest Medical Center near Boston introduced a text-messaging line that patients can contact to find out how long they would have to wait at the emergency departments of its hospitals. "We're trying to promote better customer service and show people they can be better served by staying [at a hospital] in their own community," MetroWest CEO Andrei Soran said.
