Medicaid looks to IT for the future, CMS officials say

CMS officials speaking at a conference said the health reform law and stimulus plan have driven a "new paradigm" for Medicaid that is largely dependent on information technology, particularly in achieving health care quality, cost containment and coverage goals. IT will be key to bringing Medicaid services to a level similar to "doing business with Amazon," a CMS director said.
