Starbucks to test CPG products in coffee shops

Starbucks will use its stores as a place to test out new CPG products before they debut in grocery stores, CEO Howard Schultz said in a growth-strategy memo this week. With sales of the company's popular Via instant coffee drink hitting $100 million recently, the chain's strategy aims to familiarize customers with more new products in the cafes so they will recognize them at the supermarket.
