Study links low vitamin D levels to early-onset pre-eclampsia

A study found 50 pregnant women with early severe pre-eclampsia had lower vitamin D levels compared with 100 healthy expectant women. The data did not show that low vitamin D causes the pregnancy complication or whether taking supplements could reduce the risk.
