Takeda looks for revenue growth in drugs for lifestyle diseases

Takeda Pharmaceutical plans to focus on treatments for diabetes and other lifestyle diseases, as the Japanese drugmaker faces generic competition to blockbuster drug Actos. The company, which has at least two drug candidates for lifestyle diseases, expects to launch diabetes drug alogliptin by 2012.
