Acciona Windpower plans to install concrete wind-turbine towers in Iowa, which could be the first state in the U.S. to see this type of apparatus. Acciona says the towers -- developed by its Spanish parent company -- should save money and increase the impact of wind projects on the local economy. "The concrete tower will be a new product for the United States... It will allow us to bring more local jobs to the communities where wind projects are constructed," said Joe Baker, CEO of Acciona Windpower. Most U.S. wind towers are made of steel.
