La. authority wants a delay in Army Corps' levee-armoring plan

The Army Corps of Engineers should delay the deadline for its armoring plan for some levees in Louisiana, according to the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East. The federal agency should conduct further research to determine whether the levees could be maintained adequately, the board said. "We don't want that date to drive potentially bad decisions," said Tim Doody, the authority's president.
