Study: Recession will make consumers more eco-conscious

Economic troubles are leading to a generation of budget-minded consumers who see ethical products as more valuable, according to an American Express study of consumers in the U.K. Digital tools will make that even easier, allowing customers to check products' environmental and ethical positions on their smartphones before making a purchase, the report predicts.
