2 Calif. counties start fruit fly quarantines

The California Department of Food and Agriculture has started an Asian fruit fly quarantine in parts of Orange and Los Angeles counties after detecting multiple flies and larvae. The 130-square-mile area is largely urban but it includes a 78-acre field growing bell peppers, one of the more than 230 fruits and vegetables the pest is known to target.
