Ala. district adds more fresh produce to the menu

As students return to Daphne Elementary School in Alabama, this fall, nutrition professionals say they are working to offer more fresh produce to students, including sugar snap peas, raw string beans and berries. "Our hopes are that they like these new foods and will develop a taste for more healthful, nutritious foods that will keep them going throughout the day," said Erin Miller, child nutrition program supervisor for Baldwin County schools.
