Brazil's premiums for fixed-income futures "excessive," official says

Alexandre Tombini, president of Brazil's central bank, said in an unusual statement on the bank's website that fixed-income futures' premiums are "excessive." The announcement came after a 0.83% drop in the value of the real Monday, to 2.416 against the U.S. dollar, bringing the currency to its lowest value since March 2009.
