Futura mHealth unveils app to help patients with COPD

Futura mHealth has designed the SmartScope HTML5 application that can cut admission rates among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by 38% to 40%. To assess their condition, patients should answer an eight-question survey once a day, which they can access through the SmartScope app. The survey results are sent to providers, who will examine the information and estimate the chances that the patient will experience an attack that could require hospitalization. Exacerbation attacks can be predicted up to a week ahead of time and, with early treatment, can be avoided.
