Ga. district seeks to double breakfast participation

Brindlea Griffin, the child nutrition director in a Georgia school district, said she expects schools to double last year's breakfast participation rate of 36% because of its participation in a federal pilot program. Under the program, all students will be eligible for free meals -- regardless of their family's income. "When breakfast is free, it helps the parents better afford lunch," she said.
