Leaders talk low-cost sugar program solutions

With the unlimited export of sugar from Mexico driving the prices of domestic sugar to extremely low levels, finding ways to keep the costs of the domestic sugar program low are gaining some attention from legislators. The USDA has already spent $50.7 million to keep surplus sugar off the market.
