Lowering 2014 RFS goal by 2.3 billion gallons would aid compliance, expert says

Adjusting the overall Renewable Fuel Standard requirement for 2014 to 15.85 billion gallons, down 2.3 billion gallons from the original goal of 18.15 billion gallons, would make the standard attainable for refiners, according to Wally Tyner, an energy policy specialist at Purdue University. Similar adjustments in 2015 and 2016 would aid compliance, he said.
