Michigan official clarifies smoking ban rules

Michigan's bars and restaurants are free to allow smoking on patios and other outdoor areas, provided workers aren't required to serve food or drinks in those sections, state Agriculture Director Jamie Clover Adams said Monday. A bill introduced in April would go further, reversing parts of the state's 2010 smoking ban by allowing smoking in certain rooms of bars, restaurants and other businesses.
