Ohio districts invest in school safeguards

An Ohio district will begin screening school visitors using a system, in which technology is used to scan driver's licenses and compare the data with the national sex-offender registry. The $34,000 system -- which also prints visitor badges -- is just one of several ways Ohio districts are working to keep schools safe. In other districts, students are required to carry ID cards and school volunteers must undergo background checks.
