Tenn. to tie teachers' licenses to students' test scores

Tennessee has adopted controversial standards for earning a teaching license in the state. The board of education voted Friday to approve, but delayed, the standards until August 2015 because officials say they wanted more time to gather information and possibly make changes. Among the more controversial aspects of the policy is a provision that would tie the renewal of teaching licenses to teachers' value-added scores, which take into account students' academic growth in school.
