United Nations goes social for humanitarian campaigns

The United Nations will use Twitter to remind people about humanitarian crises in places such as Afghanistan, Yemen and Haiti, says UN Undersecretary-General Valerie Amos. The UN's "The World Needs More" campaign will see global celebrities post single words such as "love" or "humanity" on Twitter, with sponsors agreeing to donate $1 to a UN humanitarian fund for each retweet the messages receive.
