A group of Charleston, W.Va., students recently learned that recycling can do more than take care of the planet. The students, ages 9 to 11, and their school began a TerraCycle program to collect hard-to-recycle items, such as foil juice packets, toothpaste tubes and No. 6 plastic cups. Their efforts earned the school a reward of 200 tubes of toothpaste, which they donated to an advocacy organization to distribute to people in need.
