Anti-big-box sentiment springs up in Tennessee

Franklin, Tenn., is the latest community to join a growing trend of communities fighting to limit the size of big-box retailers. The city's planning commission is deciding on a proposed ordinance to require that retailers building stores of more than 50,000 square feet must build upward instead of spreading out. The ordinance would impact a number of new stores, including Kroger and Costco.
