Bridge collapse boosts gas tax push

The Minneapolis bridge collapse has boosted the odds of passing the first gasoline tax increase since 1993. Under a bridge repair plan already introduced by House Transportation Chairman James Oberstar, D-Minn., the current 18.4 cent tax per gallon of gas would be increased by 5 cents, but President George W. Bush has warned of a possible veto.
