Britain enjoys teacher surplus

High-quality teachers are competing for British secondary school vacancies as the country reverses teacher shortages of the past decade, according to a tracking of 32,000 openings in the 2006-07 school year. "It is a golden age and possibly the best it has been for a generation," said John Howson, director of Education Data Surveys.
