Dell event shows agencies haven't stopped giving ideas away for free

A Dell "summit" on online word-of-mouth marketing held earlier this month in which major shops shared their ideas at no charge is another example of agencies failing to live up to tough talk on controlling intellectual property, according to this article. Tom Finneran, EVP, agency management services at the American Association of Advertising Agencies, called the event's timing "bizarre," while a Dell spokesman characterized it as a "voluntary" meeting that was scheduled before it had planned a review for its ad and marketing services account.
