More beverages to join milk in high school vending machines

Major beverage makers agreed last year to sharply curtail the sale of sweetened beverages to students in high school vending machines as part of an agreement with the William J. Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association. However, a subsequent agreement reached in May allows beverage companies to offer beverages in addition to milk and water, including diet sodas and lower-calorie juices.
