Stores continue to grow private-label brands

Food Lion, Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods have all expanded their private-label brand offerings, adding everything from value to premium goods. "There's a real opportunity to use our brands to drive customer loyalty. In addition, they command higher margins on average than national brands," a Food Lion spokeswoman said.
