AOPA, EAA call for reasoned response to Hudson collision

Aviation groups including the AOPA and the EAA have sent a letter to FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt discouraging rash reactions to the midair collision between a small airplane and sightseeing helicopter in the Hudson River corridor that claimed nine lives Aug. 8. "Acting precipitously, without all the facts, may have unintended consequences while failing to improve safety or prevent future problems," said the letter, which was signed by AOPA President and CEO Craig Fuller and EAA President and Chairman Tom Poberezny.
