AOPA: Restrictions related to Obama visit could have been worse

Pilots attempting to fly in and out of Martha's Vineyard say that flight restrictions surrounding next week's visit by President Barack Obama and his family are stricter than they've ever seen. The visit represents the first time a sitting president has vacationed on the island in the post-Sept. 11 era of flight security, but AOPA Spokesman Chris Dancy said the final TFR could have been worse: "AOPA did make the case for a less restrictive TFR and in fact was successful in advocating for gateway access to the inner ring -- the first time since the 30-nm presidential TFRs were instituted that GA has had access to the inner 10-nm ring," he said.
