FDA, CDC reaffirm safety, efficacy of Gardasil

The FDA and the CDC said Merck & Co.'s cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil continues to be safe and effective despite its reported link to high rates of fainting and blood clots. The statement comes after the publication of articles in the Journal of the American Medical Association that question the vaccine's safety.
