Hospitals to get $1.2 billion for EHR systems

The government will give about $1.2 billion to U.S. hospitals to help them switch to electronic medical records systems, Vice President Joe Biden and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius are to announce today. About $589 million would go toward helping hospitals and clinics choose EHR systems and $564 million would be used to help hospitals share information with each other.
